Vertically Developmental Coach Supervision

Harthill Vertically Developmental Coach Supervision

The basics

Whilst providing the final required element of the Developmental journey for those seeking to Accredit as Vertically Developmental Coaches with Harthill, our Supervision Communities are open to any coach wishing to be part of a small self-and-practice transformational inquiry group. It is, however, important for those wishing to join a group to complete, or have completed, their own LDP and debrief and be actively seeking to deepen their own vertically developmental journey through working with their own meaning making and Action-Logics.

Each supervision community consists of a Harthill host, trained & experienced in supervision, and six coaches. The community contracts to work together for a year – as a group, in one-to-one supervision, with members’ LDPs, and in various avenues of personal and practice exploration. The contract is renewable at the end of the year, should the community wish to remain together. However participating coaches may decide to ‘cross fertilise’ their thinking with collaborators from a different community group – or indeed continue their developmental journey elsewhere.

BOOK Vertically Developmental Coach Supervision

Emergent, Flexible and Generative

At the heart of our approach is the Alchemical desire to curate collaborative supervision groups in an emergent, flexible and generative manner. Sitting at the core of this is exploring the possibilities arising from approaching our life and work with what Harthill describes as ‘personifying seemingly opposite attributes such as complexity and simplicity, joyfulness and sadness, intensity and tranquillity.’ In other words, ‘in paradox and a marriage of opposites’

This, to a degree, may be reflected in how each person engages in the community group. Some may wish to engage in collaborative sessions only, whilst others may wish to engage in individual supervision from time to time. Others still may wish to explore their own developmental journey more deeply, or in a different manner than others, whilst still more may have a desire to include participating in the Harthill Deepening Your Practice programme as a means of gaining a more developed understanding of the more technical aspects of Vertical Development and the LDF.

Everyone is free to ‘shape’ her or his own supervisory experience and this is reflected in the annual cost of participation - the only prerequisite being full participation in the group supervisory sessions. A ‘menu of costs and charges can be obtained from info@harthill.co.uk.

The Technology

An important (and, we feel, exciting) aspect of participating in a supervision community group is the technology.

An ongoing opportunity to engage in online community group conversations and share resources, ideas and observations, will be curated on our Sana Labs platform site. Harthill’s Sana Coach Supervision workspace facilitates the emergence of a living ecosystem within our even wider learning space, and we’re more than excited about its possibilities.

Added to this, our MyStory journaling App provides each community group a rich vein of anonymised coachee stories and insights into the developmental impact of their coaching journey.

These coupled with stories from group members’ own practice reflections and the unique SenseMaker® approach to allowing story tellers to explore and more fully understand their entries will facilitate each community group to collaborate in charting a developmental voyage that can be transformative both for themselves and their practices.
