Developmental Coaching basics for leaders
Coaching Skills and Leading Edge Leadership
According to a recent survey in Chief Learning Officer Magazine the top desired skill for front-line managers is coaching. Forbes magazine research tells us that “93% of employees believe their managers need training on how to actually coach employees.” Thus, one much prised element in expanding your reach and strength as a leader is to develop your impact and presence as a coach.
This requires leaders to do more than just wrap together a bunch of competencies or skills; it asks them to increase their own capacity for developing both themselves and those who they lead. And in our Coaching Presence programme we at Harthill brings a unique and leading-edge approach to developing leaders in this space.
Coaching Presence
Based on many years' experience working with leaders, teams and organisations, we have created a programme that really delivers high impact, sustainable change in leaders' capacity for developing and coaching their teams. Our approach stimulates and supports -
Teams need Coach Leaders
Now, more than ever, in such an uncertain world, with unpredictable markets and unfamiliar socio-economic conditions, teams need leaders to provide more ongoing development in conversations that they find engaging, stimulating, thought-provoking and supportive. They need leaders to be honest in ways that are helpful and not avoiding the issues that are important. They need leaders to be providing more coaching support, both one to one and in the team sessions. These leaders will engage in levels of development that will shift their teams to a higher level.
