Exploration of the alchemical interplay of meaning and sense - individual and collective.
Hosted by Rebecca Stevens and Anastasia Nekrasova
Date - 23 March
Overview
One year on from when we started the first series of Alchemy in Adversity, we want to offer an opportunity for us to come together as a community to continue our inquiry into the current context in which we find ourselves. Our community live in over 25 countries and to a large extent, our systemic contexts (‘it/its’) are different. Though we were all dominated by the same one virus, COVID-19, there were drastically different responses from our governments and societies. Our individual experiences, too, are very different.
Last year, as COVID-19 landed, we gathered in March, in order to provide relief and support to one another. It was a time when each of us was making sense of what was happening to us as individuals (‘I’), to our nearest and dearest (‘we’) and wondering, often with anxiety, what might be coming. Today, almost a year later, some of it has become our learning and other questions have arrived. What looked like ‘extraordinary’ and ‘temporary’ seems to have come to stay. How do we make sense of it now?
Outline
Meaning making is uniquely individual, its shifts and transformations are beautifully captured by the Leadership Development Framework (LDF). Sense making is often described as a collective phenomenon – a process through which a group reflects on their collective experience, distils its value, assesses its costs, and draws conclusions for the future.
Welcome to an exploration of the alchemical interplay of meaning and sense - individual and collective, internal and external, unique and universal, timely and timeless. This 2 hour exploration will be facilitated by Harthill - please come as a whole human being and be a magic ingredient in the alchemy that unfolds.
